From
his beginnings as a jewellery designer, René Lalique began
incorporating glass into his jewellery designs in the late 1800’s.
In 1907 François Coty commissioned Lalique to design his perfume
labels. In time, Lalique created his first perfume bottles for Coty.
The teamwork of these two would eventually revolutionize the perfume
industry, by presenting fine perfumes in attractive containers. From
that point, Lalique continued to experiment with glass manufacturing
techniques to set the stage for the fabulous wares that the company
produces today.
