Since its very first brushstrokes came to life in 1775, the Royal
Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory has left an exciting trail of form
and colours. Its first dinner service pattern was Blue Fluted, a
popular pattern in Europe's first porcelain manufactories. Since
the stylised floral motive originated in China, it was considered
the epitome of genuine porcelain. Blue Fluted would gradually become
synonymous with Danish porcelain. The pattern continues to be popular
and is still painted by hand today.
